At Classic Junkie we use our own grading scale to help our customers know what to expect from the items we have listed so they can shop with confidence!

Basics - Cartridge Games - Consoles

**The condition level DOES NOT apply to the functionality of any game, console, or controller. The condition level DOES NOT describe the surface of a disc or the contacts of a cartridge. To see how we clean and restore or games and systems visit the "Cleaning & Refurbishing" page.

Understanding the Basics:

• Collector

  • these items will look brand new with no cosmetic flaws and could be centerpieces for serious collectors

  • some items may carry a premium for Collector condition

• Gamer

  • these items are your average games, there may be a few cosmetic flaws but nothing that would be glaring

  • these would look great on any gamer's shelf

• Budget

  • these items would be for those that just want to play the game with discounts that reflect the condition

  • may include some serious cosmetic flaws but will be 100% functional

The grading scale applied to cartridge based games:

• Collector

  • These games are fully cleaned, inside and out. And would look amazing in the center of any collection.

  • There may me minimal scratching or scuffs, especially in the areas that enter the console.

  • The label(s) will be free for scratching and pressure marks

• Gamer

  • These games are fully cleaned, inside and out. And would be a welcomed addition to any collection.

  • With these games could show signs of some wear and tear and aging. Some minor cosmetic flaws that may be present are:

    • Smalls scratches and nicks to the plastic

    • Minor discoloring/yellowing

    • Minor scratching or pressure marks to the label(s)

• Budget

  • These games are fully cleaned, inside and out. However they will show signs of heavy play and poor care.

  • These games are a great choice for those that only care if they can play the game

  • Some major cosmetic flaws that may be present are:

    • Scratches and nicks to the plastic

    • Major and/or uneven discoloring/yellowing

    • Major scratching or tears to the label(s). This maybe include missing end labels

The grading scale applied to console (and included accessories):

• Collector

  • Our collector level consoles are fully cleaned and restored inside and out and would look amazing on any collectors shelf!

  • While perfection is difficult to achieve, there will be minimal scratching or scuffs and absolutely no nicks, gauges or cracks anywhere to be found!

• Gamer

  • Our Game level consoles are fully cleaned and restored and will look the part!

  • There can be small scratches here and there and an occasional nick in the plastic, but these systems will look very nice in any gamers setup!

• Budget

  • Budget consoles are fully cleaned and restored and will function 100% perfectly.

  • They will however show moderate to heavy signs of cosmetic flaws, including but not limited to yellowing of the plastic, chips and scratches on the plastic.

    
    
  
  

The grading scale applied to novelties (specifically boxed figures):

• Collector

  • Our collector level items are perfect for those collectors that love to keep their items sealed in their boxes!

  • While perfection is difficult to achieve, there will be minimal imperfections in the boxes of these items. Great care will be taken in packaging for shipment to ensure that the box stays in the listed state.

• Gamer

  • Our Game level figures have boxes that make them suitable for display in the sealed box or opened.

  • The boxes are case fresh but may have small imperfections and flaws.

• Budget

  • Budget level items have boxes that most would fine unsuitable for display. These are items that should be intended to opened before displaying.

  • The actual item(s) in the box/packaging are brand new and undamaged in any way.

• Some items in the Novelty category do not have exterior packaging or have packaging that does not have any added value. These items will only show the "Gamer" option under "Condition".

**For items that are premium, rare, high value, or where we otherwise deem necessary, photos will be included in the listings of the actual items that we have in inventory. These will be listed as "Item ##" under the "Condition" or "Item" product option and show every part that is included with the item.

Packaging Options

When it comes to buying games online we know it can be difficult to understand what will be included with the game or system that you purchase. Below are some some terms that we use to guide you in your shopping.

• New (Sealed)

  • this item still sealed in the factory packaging

  • this item may be a vintage item that has been left sealed or a brand new, recent generation game

  • the contents will be responsibility of the production company

• Complete in Box / Complete in Case

  • this item includes

    • game

    • box or case

    • manual

    • inserts relating to game play (maps, guides)

  • this item may not include

    • generic inserts and offers

    • digital codes (if codes are included, they may have already been redeemed)

    • dust sleeves, caps, clamshells, case slip covers

    • void filler items (foam, XPS foam, cardboard)

• Boxed (no manual) / No Manual

  • this item includes

    • game

    • box or case

      
      

  • this item may not include

    
    

    • manual

    • inserts relating to game play

    • generic inserts and offers

    • digital codes (if codes are included, they may have already been redeemed)

Please note: Starting with the Eighth Generation of video games, it has become the standard to not included items like manuals in the product of games. These items will be listed as "Complete" even though there will not be a manual in the case, because there is no manual to include.

**For items that are premium, rare, high value, or where we otherwise deem necessary, photos will be included in the listings of the actual items that we have in inventory. These will be listed as "Actual Item ##" under the "Condition" product option and show every part that is included with the item.

***The conditions of all components are of the same level (or better) than described in the item listing. For example: If an item is listed as "No Manual - Gamer" the game and box will be of the Gamer or Collector conditions.  If an item is listed as "No Manual - Budget" the game and box will be of the Budget, Gamer, or Collector conditions
